Take Gabriola ferry from Nanaimo. Follow the signs to Gabriola Sands Provincial Park, locals call it Twin Beaches. Drive off ferry, take first left at Taylor Bay Road. Continue on Taylor Bay Rd, turns into Berry Point Rd. Turn left on Ricardo Road, Gabriola Sands Provincial Park is just down the road. See you there! If you don't have a car, it's safe and easy to hitchhike.

Take the Queen St East street car to the Toronto Public Library (next to Kew Gardens). Walk South down Lee avenue until you hit the water. Look for 'Hands Across The Sand' and 'Sierra Club Canada' signs. See you there!

What to do at a
Hands Event
STEP 1
Go to the beach at 11 AM in your time zone for one hour, rain or shine.
STEP 2
Join hands for 15 minutes at 12:00 forming lines in the sand against oil drilling in our coastal waters.
STEP 3
Leave only your footprints.
Tips of the Day
- Use only approved beach accesses and parking.
- Create as long a line or as many lines as you wish.
- Be courteous and respectful to those who disagree with your view.
- Please steer clear of bird nesting areas.
- …enjoy yourself, it’s the beach!
